The San Francisco Bay Delta region of California is located at the confluence of the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers. The water that flows through the Delta supplies drinking water to two-thirds of California's population, provides irrigation water for farmlands, and sustains a diverse array of fish and wildlife species including several endangered and threatened species. In addition, the Delta also supplies cooling water to two power plants with combined generation capacities of more than 2,500 MW.

Our panel discussion will introduce you to the Delta and provide an overview of the energy, water, and environmental issues related to this precious resource.  Panel speakers include:

  • Heather Cooley, Co-director of the Pacific Institute's Water Program.
  • Ellen Hanak, Senior Fellow at the Public Policy Institute of California
  • Dr. Tina Swanson, Executive Director and Chief Scientist at The Bay Institute.

Drinks and appetizers will be provided.

Dial-in attendees will be emailed the number and information prior to the event.
