The latest commercially viable version of the electric vehicle has been available to the public since 2011.  Since then, several plug-in electric vehicles have been introduced by various manufacturers but they vary in their technology and driving characteristics.  The average consumer might get frustrated with the information, or lack of information, available. With the high-end Tesla electric vehicles catching the most media attention, a popular misconception is that all electric vehicles are expensive. Electric vehicles vary in price as much as regular gas cars, and the battery-only electric vehicles have a lower total cost of ownership than gas cars.

Our speaker, Michelle Pierce, is an Electric Vehicle Consultant and a member of the AWWEE OC/IE Regional Team.  She has over 20 years experience in the municipal electric utility industry, including electric vehicle strategic planning for three different Inland Empire municipal electric utilities.  Her passion for electric vehicles dates back to the General Motors EV1.  In 2012, she leased a Nissan Leaf and joined the ranks of the early adopters of electric vehicle technology.

We'll have electric vehicles onsite for test drives courtesy of BMW of Riverside, Riverside Nissan and Walter's Fiat.  Bring your driver's license to take advantage of this test drive opportunity!

Please join the AWWEE OC/IE Leadership team during National Drive Electric Week for this informational event about electric vehicles and test drive opportunity.

Special thanks to SAWPA for hosting this event and to BMW of Riverside, Riverside Nissan and Walter's Fiat for their participation.
